Jewellery insurance doesn’t have to be complicated or hard to understand. Here at Q Report, it’s straightforward. We protect your jewellery from theft, loss and damage. But you probably want to know a few more of the details, so let’s explore.
We believe jewellery should be worn with confidence. Let your engagement ring shine on your finger, and wear your luxury watch on your next holiday. That’s why we’ve created Q Report jewellery insurance. It affords you the confidence needed to wear your jewellery with ease.
Simply put, jewellery insurance puts you back in the same position you were in before the unexpected happened. We know how much your jewellery and luxury watches mean to you. They’re not only monetarily valuable; they also represent achievements, relationships and memories.
Jewellery insurance provides coverage to replace or repair your pieces if they’re damaged, lost or stolen.
Most Home Contents policies include provisions for jewellery.
Unfortunately, most Home Contents policies only cover jewellery when it’s at home. Additionally, single item limits are generally smaller than the value of most engagement rings and luxury watches.
A standalone jewellery insurance policy such as Q Report, on the other hand, covers your pieces no matter where you travel, and the value limit matches the item’s agreed value. Therefore, when you report a claim, you’ll receive the means to restore your jewellery fully.
Some insurers won’t pay the full value of your jewellery in the case of the claim. They’ll choose to replace it at the lowest price they can find it. At Q Report, we want you to feel completely confident with your cover and to know precisely what you can expect. That’s why we provide an agreed value policy. We pay the actual amount shown on your policy minus a flat $100 excess if your jewellery is lost, stolen or damaged.
You chose your family jeweller for your own personal reasons. Perhaps you love your jeweller's style, selection or history. Or perhaps it’s a trusted family jeweller. Whatever the reasons, we think you should be able to return to your jeweller in times of loss.
Therefore, you will always be able to return to your chosen jeweller for repairs or replacement.
The value of jewellery changes from year to year due to many factors: currency rate fluctuations, current gold and metal prices, the supply and demand for precious stones, labour costs and even the age of the piece. To make sure your jewellery is always adequately covered, we revalue your jewellery every year at no charge to you.
Having your jewellery insured at the right value gives you the peace of mind to wear it as freely as you like.
What good is jewellery insurance that only covers your engagement rings and bracelets while you’re at home? With Q Report cover, you can wear your jewellery everywhere you go, from the office to your overseas holidays.
If you purchase your jewellery or luxury watch from a Q Certified Jeweller, it can be fully insured from the moment you walk out the door! Alternatively, if you want to protect a piece you already own, you can complete our online quote process or contact us directly.
If the unexpected happens to your jewellery, you’ll need to start the claims process. To begin, contact us directly by calling us on 1300 882 018 or emailing us at claims @qreport.com.au.
Next, we’ll gather the necessary processing information. For instance, we’ll need a statutory declaration and a police report if the item was lost or stolen.
At this point, we take care of the rest, liaising with your jeweller and the underwriter. Of course, we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
If you can get us the statutory declaration and police report right away, the claims process typically takes five business days or less. Sometimes it just takes a couple of days.
If you have more questions about our jewellery insurance policies or the claims process, feel free to contact us on 1300 882 018. You can also explore our FAQ page to learn more about our insurance. We look forward to protecting the things you love.

Unlike their battery-powered quartz counterparts, luxury watches have a beating heart – the mechanical movement. First created in the 14th century, large, weight-driven tower clocks with verge escapements and foliot balances marked the dawn of mechanical timekeeping.
Today, the core concept of mechanical movements remains unchanged from its original conception. It involves an intricate arrangement of gears, springs, and an escapement powered by a wound mainspring. This precision engineering allows for smooth operation and precise timekeeping.
Manual watch movements require the wearer to wind the crown periodically. Automatic watch movements, on the other hand, utilise the wearer's movements to keep the mainspring wound, offering a convenient everyday solution.
The Patek Philippe Calatrava, with its ultra-thin manual movement, exemplifies the elegance of traditional watchmaking. On the other hand, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual, with its self-winding mechanism epitomises practicality and durability.
Whether manual or automatic, a mechanical movement imbues a luxury watch with a soul, a testament to human ingenuity and a treasured heirloom for generations to come
Luxury watches often boast 'complications,' intricate mechanisms that add layers of sophistication, style and utility. Here, we explore some of the most fascinating complications created by the best luxury watch brands.

Diamond shapes can vary in price due to popularity and demand. Round brilliants, for example, tend to be more expensive than other shapes due to their high demand. If budget is a concern, consider alternative shapes or prioritise other aspects, such as cut quality, over the shape itself.
